Childcare Subsidy

What is the Childcare Subsidy (CCS)

What is the CCS

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a government initiative that helps families with the cost of approved and registered child care. It provides financial assistance to eligible families who are using an approved child care provider, and covers up to 90% of the cost of approved child care. The CCS is based on a family’s income and activity level, and can be used to cover the cost of long day care, family day care, outside school hours care, and in-home care.

How do the recent changes benefit my family?

The recent CCS changes mean more families now have access to subsidised childcare. The income threshold has increased, from $356,756 to $530,000, making the CCS available to more families. Families earning up to $80,000 a year will now get a maximum CCS rate of 90%, up from 85%. Even if you have a combined income below $362,408 and more than one child aged 5 or under, you can still get a higher rate for one or more of your children. Take advantage of this great opportunity now
